Next up, The Stanley is a New American restaurant from James Beard-nominated chef Paul Verica.

Located in the heart of Elizabeth, The Stanley emphasizes seasonal, locally sourced ingredients in such main dishes as risotto with shrimp, snap peas, ham and asparagus, or strip steak with cauliflower, veggies and red wine. Small plates include beef tartare, scallops with herbs and chicken liver mouse. It's open for dinner only.

The Stanley currently holds 4.5 stars out of 17 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper John T., who reviewed the restaurant on June 6, wrote, "The menu was creative and diverse, the environment very friendly and the staff warm and engaging. Even the general manager, Stephen, gave us personal attention. Meal prices were reasonable, and the wine list diverse and good."

Melody L. noted, "Definitely get reservations if you can — as we ate, people kept filing in for dinner. Also, as with anything in the Elizabeth area, parking is a challenge, and the lot behind The Stanley is small. We will be back when the seasons change — I want to see how Paul changes the menu to fit the seasons. "

The Stanley is open from 5–9 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and 5–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
