Looking for contemporary Italian fare? A new restaurant has you covered. The newcomer to Midtown, called SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, is located at 438 Selden St. and specializes in modern Roman cuisine.

The kitchen is helmed by chef Anthony Lombardo, who is inspired by "the modern metropolis that Rome is today," the restaurant says on its website.

Eater Detroit reports the new 3,300-square-foot restaurant mills its own organic, heritage whole-wheat flour daily for use in its pasta dishes. Standout menu items include the orecchiette pasta with spicy lamb neck ragu and whipped ricotta; a tomahawk veal chop with peas and bone marrow; and wild American red snapper in a spicy broth. Pair your meal with a selection from the full bar.

SheWolf Pastificio & Bar is off to a strong start with a five-star rating based on 13 Yelp reviews.

Christopher M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the restaurant on July 1, wrote, "Awesome place. I'm having a hard time coming up with a better Italian pasta place in the U.S. Each dish was terrific."

Yelper Serena D. added, “My new favorite restaurant in Detroit! Not only is the food great, but so is the atmosphere! The bar is huge and the cocktails are refreshing. They have a mezcal drink that is to die for."

Head on over to check it out: SheWolf Pastificio & Bar is open from 5–11 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 5 p.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 4–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
