Dear Globe

Coffee roaster Dear Globe has opened a new cafe featuring specialty coffees with beans sourced from small producers around the world.

Owned by artist LieAnne Navarro, the shop serves organic, micro-lot and Rainforest Alliance-certified coffees, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.

Baristas will prepare an espresso or pour-over for you in-house, or you can take a bag of beans home. Muffins and other baked goods are available to accompany your drink.

Dear Globe has just one review on Yelp so far.

Yelper Laura M. wrote, "Excellent micro-lot coffee, small-batch roasted. I had the Ethiopian yirgacheffe, and my boyfriend had the tropical green iced tea. Cute atmosphere for studying or getting some work done."

Dear Globe is open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

OneDo Coffee

913 S. Lakewood Ave., Canton

OneDo Coffee also roasts its own beans. In fact, you can see the roasting machine on the premises of this cafe in Canton.

Ask for your coffee in an espresso or as a pour-over, cold brew, or Japanese iced style. A yogurt parfait is among the limited food items. Loose-leaf tea is on hand, if you need a break from coffee.

OneDo Coffee is developing a local fan base with a current Yelp rating of five stars out of 44 reviews.

Yelper Vishal P., who reviewed it on July 29, wrote, "As I do with every coffee place, I ordered a regular latte. It was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my favorite coffee places in Baltimore. The espresso tasted good, the milk was heated just right, and they were nice enough to do some latte art which is always a plus."

David A. noted, "John and Rachel were both extremely helpful and informative on the shop. John also provided us with a great overview of their roasting and cold brew process. Their pour-over was fantastic. The espresso blend is one of the best I've had in ages."

OneDo Coffee is open from 6:30 a.m.–7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. on weekends.

Roll Ice Cream & Coffee

Finally, there's Roll Ice Cream & Coffee, which pairs locally roasted coffee with house-rolled ice cream.

Drinks include lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, espressos and hot tea. While sipping on your hot beverage, try the rolled ice cream, which comes in sweet cream and chocolate. Add mix-ins like strawberries, walnuts or brownie bits, and then top it off with whipped cream or peanut butter drizzle.

With a four-star Yelp rating out of 16 reviews, Roll Ice Cream & Coffee has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Latoya E., who visited the shop on July 26, wrote, "Watching them make it was a treat and the finished product was smoother than other ice cream I've had recently. The space is open and very modern with lots of clean lines."

And Mary R. wrote, "The folks who work here are very kind and took the time to explain the rolled ice cream concept to us. Either sweet cream (vanilla) or chocolate is poured onto a super-frozen slab. Then the toppings are added. The pieces get rolled up by scraping them off the slab with a spackling knife-looking thing. The result is delicious and tasty but not worth the price. "

Roll Ice Cream & Coffee is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.
