A new spot to score ice cream and milkshakes has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Central Lawrenceville, called FRIO Creamery, is located at 4127 Butler St. in the former space of Gryphon's Tea.
The shop offers a rotating cast of 12 ice cream flavors from Penn State Berkey Creamery, which are served in waffle cones or as simple scoops. Milkshakes are also available, including Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Paradise and the Oreo Xtreme, topped with Oreos and chocolate sprinkles.
With just two reviews on Yelp thus far, FRIO Creamery currently has a 4.5-star rating.
J shawn D., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 12, wrote, "Best ice cream in Lawrenceville. Ample street parking. Delightful tasting and smelling as the scent of waffle cones surrounds the area."
Connie A. added, "The staff are the owners and are very friendly. They were patient with giving tastes and the one-scoop cones are large and delicious. The only issue is that the waffle cones, which were fresh, homemade and delicious leaked, so keep a napkin underneath the cone."
Head on over to check it out: FRIO Creamery is open from 12:30 p.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 12:30 p.m.–11 p.m. on Friday, noon–11 p.m. on Saturday, and noon–10 p.m. on Sunday.
