A new bar and eatery has debuted in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Midtown, called Second Best Detroit, is located at 42 Watson St. It comes from Four Man Ladder Management group, the team behind Grey Ghost, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Start by perusing the bottled and canned beer menu, and you'll get a sense of this new neighborhood spot just off Woodward Avenue. There are all-American favorites like Coors Banquet and Miller High Life that may cause a tug of nostalgia along with modern craft brews.
That same vibe extends to the old-school decor with exposed brick walls, the bubble hockey game and the menu of elevated comfort foods like an Italian sandwich, pulled pork hush puppies and banana pudding. The drinks menu also features wine and cocktails.
With just three reviews on Yelp thus far, Second Best Detroit currently has a 4.5-star rating.
Darwin L., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on Aug. 14, wrote, "This place is cool. It's a rustic design, with roll-up doors for the exterior walls. The music was loud but 90s hip-hop; the drinks are reasonably priced and good; the menu was bar bites."
Sean V. added, "Awesome vibe. Great food. The chicken sandwich is out of this world. Bumpin' playlist, just hit after hit after hit. The drinks are delicious, and service was super fast and attentive."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Second Best Detroit is open daily from 4 p.m.–2 a.m.
