Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Japanese spots around Mt. Lebanon, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to satisfy your cravings.
1. Jade Grille
Topping the list is Jade Grille. Located at 670 Washington Road, the sushi bar is the highest rated Japanese restaurant in Mount Lebanon, boasting four stars out of 171 reviews on Yelp.
Come try sushi and sashimi offerings like eel avocado cucumber rolls; octopus sashimi and the Avalanche — a specialty roll with shrimp tempura and cucumber on the inside, and spicy tuna and horseradish puree on top. (You can check out the full menu here.)
Yelper Nick H., who reviewed the eatery on Aug. 21, wrote, "An amazing Asian fusion restaurant with choices to please and entice even the pickiest diners. Great service, wonderful ambiance, delicious dishes. Jade has it all."
2. Little Tokyo
Next up is Little Tokyo, situated at 636 Washington Road. Owner Frank Lin offers a wide selection of Japanese cuisine, featuring a specialized menu with fresh sushi, udon noodles, hibachi, tempura and more.

With four stars out of 160 reviews on Yelp, the Japanese eatery has proven to be a local favorite.
"I think Little Tokyo has the best sushi in Pittsburgh, hands down!" wrote Yelper Kristin D. "It is always so fresh and of great quality. The owner is super nice and friendly as well as the waitstaff."
3. Red Tea House
Last but not least, Red Tea House, located at 1717 Cochran Road, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the spot four stars out of 61 reviews.
On the menu, expect to find starters like scallion pancakes, steamed pork dumplings and traditional wontons with spicy peanut sauce.
For dinner, try chef specialties such as Hunan crispy chicken with spicy brown sauce; Peking duck served with crepes, raw scallions and hoisin sauce; and the Happy Family — a dish consisting of chicken, beef, shrimp, lobster meat, scallops, vegetables, brown sauce and white rice.
