As fans of cronuts and cake pops can attest, food trends come and go. So how can you tell which tastes are trending at this very moment?
We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to discover which restaurants have been seeing especially high review volumes this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Dallas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month.
Read on to see which spots are getting plenty of attention this autumn.
#getfried fry cafe

Open since June, #getfried fry cafe is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (Traditional)" on Yelp. Citywide, traditional American spots saw review counts increase by a median of 2.7 percent over the past month, but the fry cafe saw a 77.4 percent increase, maintaining a convincing four-star rating throughout.
It's not the only trending outlier in the traditional American category: 3 Eleven Kitchen & Cocktails has seen a 13 percent increase in reviews, and The Mockingbird Diner has seen a 10.2 percent bump.
