Casa Caña is a cocktail bar and Latin American spot in the Studio Allston Hotel.

Explore the flavors of Central America, South America and the Caribbean, with dishes like Mexican-style grilled corn with cotija cheese, chilies and aioli; Cuban ropa vieja made with short ribs; or the Brazilian fish stew known as moqueca.

Pair your food choice with one of the house rum drinks, like Santa Teresa on Fire made with Santa Teresa 1796 rum, Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, lime, pineapple and Hellfire bitters.

Yelpers are excited about Casa Caña, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 16 reviews on the site.

Lucien K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 15, wrote, "The entrance is colorful and inviting, the decor is well done, modern, understated in the best way but with enough flourishes to keep the eye occupied if not entertained. The ceviche is last-meal-worthy, fresh and tasty."

And Rachael B. wrote, "Came mostly for the atmosphere and rum. I loved the decor and the layout of the space. Pricey for very small plates. Our favorite dish we had was the ceviche, it was refreshing and light."

Casa Caña is open from 7 a.m.–10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.–2 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekends.

Next, Cafe Landwer is a new cafe offering fresh-roasted coffee and Mediterranean food.

The international chain began as a cafe and roastery in Berlin in 1919. Now based in Israel, it is still producing its own blends from coffee grown in Ethiopia, India, Colombia and elsewhere. This is its second outlet in Boston.

Its mostly vegetarian food offerings include breakfasts like poached eggs in spiced tomato sauce and tahini, and Greek yogurt and granola with berries and honey. There's a smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, capers and Parmesan, and some Italian offerings as well, including ravioli and pizza.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp, Cafe Landwer has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Annette H., who reviewed the eatery on Aug. 8, wrote, "Super yummy brunch on a rainy day. The shakshuka was rich and perfect comfort food. The eggs in it were cooked to perfection and the bread was so fresh. Atmosphere was great; the inside of the store is gorgeous."

Yelper Eyal L. wrote, "Second location has same great food and coffee. Love the atmosphere and the feeling of a place where people genuinely care about your experience. I ate the chicken breast with herbs for dinner and couldn't pass the great coffee even though it was 8:39 p.m."

Cafe Landwer is open from 8 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
