Brainy Actz Escape Rooms

New to 2345 Tacoma Ave. South is Brainy Actz Escape Rooms, which challenges up to 10 players to solve objectives and puzzles in hourlong sessions. The business caters to both child and adult participants and tests "teamworking abilities, problem-solving skills and intellect" as you attempt to escape the room before the timer runs out, per its website.

Anthem Coffee & Tea

Local chain Anthem Coffee & Tea has opened the doors to a new shop at 102 N. G St. in the Stadium District. This is its sixth location in the area. 

The new shop offers carefully crafted espresso, blended drinks and drip coffees. Try the con panna, a single or double espresso with whipped topping, or the Grown-Ups Chocolate Milk with dark and white chocolates plus Paradox cold brew. Hungry? Pair your beverage with pastries, scones, croissants or heartier fare like sandwiches and naan bread pizzas.

Wooden City

Now open at 714 Pacific Ave. downtown is Wooden City, a modern eatery serving small plates, pizza and sandwiches. With five stars out of 29 reviews on Yelp, it's off to a strong start.

Small plates include oysters, smoked salmon toast and blistered Hungarian wax peppers with sausage. Wood-fired pizzas are also on offer, including the Classic with sausage, mushrooms, peppers and basil and the Bacon Pesto, as are sandwiches like the roasted pork with arugula and roasted red peppers and the Tavern burger with American cheese and special sauces.

Manny's Place

Then there's Manny's Place, a casual eatery at 3814 N. 26th St. on the North End. With a five-star rating out of 20 reviews, Yelpers are enthusiastic about the newcomer.
