On the menu, you'll find dishes like Kaldereta (beef stew with potatoes, carrots, tomato sauce and liver spread), Lechon Kawali (pork belly simmered until tender, then roasted until crisp with rice and vegetables) and Lumpiang Shanghai (bite-sized egg rolls filled with ground pork and vegetables). (See the menu here.)

With a 3.5-star Yelp rating out of four reviews on Yelp, Taste the World is still finding its footing.

Jeannette V., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 9, wrote, "We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic Filipino dishes served. My favorite was the longsilog breakfast and paksew! I can't say enough how tasty the food was. Reminded me of my mom's cooking back home."

Yelper Gerard M. added, “Service was decent. Plain rice and bottled soda were good. That's about it. Most of the food was cold."

Taste the World is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)

The Gelato Cone is a spot to score gelato, smoothies, dessert waffles and more. The family-owned parlor started in Europe in 1956 before migrating to the Dallas area.

Gelato flavors include dark chocolate, pumpkin, kiwi, watermelon, green apple, pomegranate, pineapple, lemon, strawberry, mango and more. For smoothies, you've got options like the Exotic Splash (pineapple, mango, banana, orange juice, coconut and yogurt ice cream) and the Happy Mix (kiwi banana, strawberry, milk, honey and yogurt ice cream).

Lisa L., who reviewed the dessert shop on July 19, wrote, "The gelato itself was so smooth and rich in flavor. Everything tasted really natural, and the owner boasted about how they use quality ingredients. It's so refreshing seeing someone proud of their product. There's plenty of seating inside, and they even have a small table with chairs for toddlers."

Yelper Mindi A. wrote, "It was clean and cute, service was excellent. Nice variety of flavors, but I've yet to find a gelato that rocks my world like ice cream does."

The Gelato Cone is open from noon–10:30 p.m. on Monday–Thursday and Sunday, and noon–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
