Scale that wall: Momentum Indoor Climbing now open in SoDoPhoto: Max Z./Yelp

A new rock climbing spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Momentum Indoor Climbing, the new arrival to SoDo is located at 2759 First Ave. South. The business has five other outposts in Utah and Texas; this is its first facility in Washington state.

The 19,000-square-foot rock climbing center combines training, weight lifting, cardio and climbing to achieve fitness goals. The walls are designed to accommodate people of all backgrounds, from novice to expert.

Beginner courses are offered and there are a variety of membership programs and different price points. Check out the website for a complete list of offerings and more information.

It's still early days for Momentum Indoor Climbing, which has just two reviews on Yelp thus far.

Max Z., who reviewed the new spot on Sept. 11, wrote, "Nice, bright and clean space with a good variety of bouldering problems. They have great bathrooms and showers and a decent workout area."

Yelper Amanda L. added, “Nice facility with interesting problems. The tension board is a great training option and there's a good mix of styles for climbing."

Momentum Indoor Climbing is open from 6 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday.
