If tapas are what you're after, look no further than this new business. Called Terrace by Mix Mix, the fresh arrival to Costa Mesa is located at 3333 Bear St., Suite 316, in South Coast Plaza.
The restaurant is helmed by chef Ross Pangilinan, whose "eclectic style is influenced by French, Italian and modern Filipino flavors, as well as his refined technique," the eatery says on its website.
With a focus on market-driven small plates, expect to find menu offerings like charcuterie; Asian barbecue pork ribs with pickled chiles; and housemade agnolotti with herb ricotta, guanciale and Parmesan sauce.
Larger entrees are on offer as well, along with desserts such as chocolate panna cotta and ube bread pudding with coconut ice cream. (You can view the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival has already made a good impression.
Audri N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 19, wrote, "The ingredients and the way the foods were prepared are far superb compared to anything available at the Crystal Court side of South Coast Plaza (where the Apple store is located). Definitely a foodie destination!"
"This place is as good as it looks," added Yelper Erika H. "The service was amazing, the food was delicious and I can't wait to come back for more! ... We got the grilled shrimp, the salmon Benedict (my favorite), and the avocado toast. The bacon-wrapped dates were amazing as well!"
