If you wanted to be taken out to the ball game but couldn't score tickets, all is not lost. There are plenty of top-notch sports bars in Seattle to catch the World Series, all of which have more to offer than your typical stadium hot dog, nachos and over-priced beer.
Using Yelp data and our own methodology, Hoodline crunched the numbers to come up with the best sports bars where you can view baseball's biggest series.
Topping the list is The Westy. Located at 7908 35th Ave. SW (between Monroe and Kenyon streets) in West Seattle, it is the highest rated sports bar in the city, boasting 4.5 stars out of 180 reviews on Yelp.
Grab a seat in front of any one of the 18 TVs and choose from a menu that ranges from breakfast to dinner selections. The Westy Burger (served on a pub bun with Angus beef, bacon, ghost pepper cheese and chipotle mayo) and Buffalo Grits (cheese grits infused with Buffalo sauce and topped with bacon-collard greens) are among some of the many menu options.
This bar is for sports fans 21 and over and features craft brews, wine and cocktails. It has a second, all-ages location in Roosevelt.
Yelper Ashley N. said, “It’s a great local spot with food that surpasses expectations when you think of bar food.”
Next up is North Seattle's Hellbent Brewing Company, situated at 13035 Lake City Way NE (between 133rd and 130th streets). With 4.5 stars out of 147 reviews on Yelp, the sports bar, beer bar and cidery has proven to be a local favorite.
Hellbent has up to 20 beers on tap along with wine, cider and bottled beer. It does not have a food menu, but local food truck vendors offer everything from pizza to kebabs. View the food truck schedule here.
On Oct. 17, Yelper Cydney A. wrote, “The spacious inside is seasonally appropriate with some Halloween décor as we move into October and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. I got a flight of four tasters: blackberry cider, cranberry cider, Funky Red Patina Red Ale, and Capo's Choice Amber. The one that stood out the most though was the cranberry cider; I went back and got a full glass. It was a great place.”
Ballard Station Public House, located at 2236 NW Market St. (between North Ballard and North 22nd avenues), is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the pub, sports bar and cocktail bar 4.5 stars out of 88 reviews.
Ballard Station Public House has 16 taps of beer and cider, imported beer, wine, signature cocktails and free popcorn. The Ziggy Zoggy Lager beer and Momma’s Lil Helper cocktail (a rosemary-infused gin) are just some of the drinks that can be found on the menu.
“I was visiting Seattle and popped into this bar. It has a great selection of cocktails (loved the names) and the bartenders treated us like family, despite it being crazy busy,” said Yelper Kelly S.
Rookies Sports Bar and Grill, a sports bar and traditional American spot in Columbia City, is another go-to, with four stars out of 247 Yelp reviews. Head over to 3820 S. Ferdinand St., Suite 101, (between South 39th and South Rainier avenues) to see for yourself.
The locally owned rock 'n' roll sports bar features 14 flat-screen TVs and offers traditional beers and six beers on tap from local craft breweries. On game day, grab a plate of Knockout Nachos, served with chili con queso, green onion, black olives, pickled jalapenos, and a side of sour cream or pico de gallo. Or opt for slow-cooked baby back ribs in tangy barbecue sauce, served with fries and coleslaw.
Yelper Tiffani A. wrote, “It’s my new favorite spot! I've been working in Columbia City for two years and found this gem three weeks ago! It’s a great atmosphere, they play good music and is perfect for lunch breaks, the evenings or weekend! The staff is extremely friendly. They have great food and drink specials daily.”
Then there's The Bridge, which has earned four stars out of 232 reviews on Yelp. You can find the 21-and-over sports bar at 6301 California Ave. SW in West Seattle.
The Bridge has several large flat-screen TVs and two giant projector screens. It features a varied menu that ranges from the Bridge Burger with bacon-marinated onion, sweet cherry peppers and Bridge sauce to tempura-battered cheese curds.
Yelper Carolyn J. said, “It’s a great neighborhood bar to watch a game and grab a burger. Burgers are delicious, juicy and the steak bites are perfect! The bar is awesome with drink specials, the beer selection is great ... Did I mention it's an awesome place to watch a game! They have TVs everywhere. It’s great service always."
