Aloha Poke Co.

Now open at 220 E. Buffalo St. in the Third Ward is Aloha Poke Co.

The Chicago-based counter-service chain offers made-to-order poke bowls, including self-designed combos and signature recipes. You'll find ingredients like line-caught tuna and Atlantic salmon, fruit and vegetable add-ins, and sauces like wasabi, spicy aioli and yuzu ranch. The eatery also offers pre-made bowls for diners on the go.

Next, stroll past the former Cold Stone Creamery location at 2911 N. Oakland Ave. on the city's east side and you'll find Good Land Wing Co.

The chicken is baked instead of fried, allowing for a lower-fat version of wings, breasts and popcorn-style chicken. Look for wings rubbed and sauced in various styles from Texas chili to Sriracha bourbon, and served with carrots and celery.

Sides include white cheddar mac and cheese, waffle fries and onion rings. Breaded "cauliflower wings" can be had as a side or on top of greens for a vegetarian salad.

Up-Down Milwaukee

A newcomer to the Lower East Side, Up-Down Milwaukee is a bar and arcade that's located at 615 E. Brady St.

The Midwest mini-chain (there are outlets in Kansas City, Des Moines and Minneapolis, too) features arcade games from the 1980s and '90s, pinball machines, Skee-Ball, Nintendo 64 console gaming and an array of patio games on two floors of outdoor space.

The drinks menu includes an extensive tap selection of over 60 beers, plus even more bottles and cans, and there's pizza by the slice to keep you fueled.

Fiesta Cafe

Head over to 1407 S. First St. in Walker's Point and you'll find Fiesta Cafe. You'll find a mix of American and Mexican dishes, like omelets and chilaquiles for breakfast, and a lunch burger topped with avocado and jalapeño peppers.

Thirsty? There are also fresh-squeezed juices and craft beer from regional brewers like Left Hand Brewing and New Glarus.

MOR Bakery & Cafe

And finally, MOR Bakery & Cafe has opened its doors in Bay View's Lincoln Warehouse at 2018 S. First St., Unit 102.

It offers a totally gluten-free menu of baked goods, like muffins, cakes, bars, cookies and brownies. Make a meal from rotating "powerhouse" bowls like beet and hummus or a Mediterranean version.

There's also a full coffee bar serving local Anodyne coffee and bissap, a Senegalese hibiscus tea.
