1. Qahwah House

Topping the list is Qahwah House. Located at 6655 Schaefer Road, it's the highest-rated bakery in Dearborn, boasting five stars out of 63 reviews on Yelp. Qahwah House was established last year by Ibrahim Alhasbani, who was born on a coffee farm in Yemen, NPR reports.

If you're there for some baked treats, look for items like the chocolate croissant or sabaya (a flaky, layered Yemeni pastry drizzled in honey). Complement your baked goods with beverages like qishr (made with coffee husk, ginger and cinnamon), Yemeni tea (with cardamom and cloves) or a pour-over coffee.

Yelper Allister D. wrote, "Hands down my favorite coffee shop in all Detroit/Dearborn. It's a Yemeni coffee house with all the classic drinks and treats that Yemen has to offer. From coffee and tea to pastries, Qahwah has got it all. This has got to be a Dearborn staple."

2. Shatila Bakery

Next up is Shatila Bakery, situated at 14300 W. Warren Ave. With four stars out of 557 reviews on Yelp, the bakery and Middle Eastern spot, serving desserts and more, has proven to be a local favorite.

Its desserts include baklava (with either pistachio, walnut, cashew or almond filling), kanafeh (shredded dough pastry stuffed with sweet cream and topped with sugar syrup), katayef (pancake pastry stuffed with cream, cheese or walnuts, then baked or fried and covered in syrup), maamoul (powdered cookies stuffed with walnuts, dates or pistachios, then lathered in butter), cookies and house-made ice cream. (See its menu here.)

Yelper Solomon K., who reviewed it on March 5, wrote, "The shop is a little overwhelming with how many different types of pastries and desserts they carry, but in a good way. We had the pistachio ice cream and a couple of baklava and it was heavenly. It tasted authentic and definitely beats the baklava you get at a local grocery or even Middle Eastern grocery stores."

3. Masri Sweets

Masri Sweets, located at 5755 Schaefer Road, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bakery 4.5 stars out of 99 reviews.

At the bakery, you can find kanafeh, maamoul, graibeh butter cookies, barazik (sesame snaps), macarons and more.

Malissa M. wrote, "The best kanafeh in Dearborn! Love this place. The staff is the nicest and the shop itself is really clean. They have a large collection of sweets and a few bigger cakes if you're celebrating a birthday or something! Will definitely come here for sweets during Ramadan."

4. Capri Italian Bakery

Capri Italian Bakery is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 53 Yelp reviews. Head over to 4832 Greenfield Road to see for yourself.

The Italian spot makes fresh dough for all of its products, including its hand-rolled pepperoni rolls, pizzas, focaccia, specialty breads and cannolis.

Breads include paninis, Sicilian, hobo and others. It also makes Italian cookies.

Yelper Caitlyn V. wrote, "I absolutely love this bakery. The pepperoni rolls are amazing. The staff is very attentive and polite and always makes ordering pleasant. Like a typical Italian bakery, this place also has great cannolis and at a fair price. "
