Topping the list is Mexican restaurant and bar Totopo. Located at 660 Washington Road, it's the highest rated business of any kind in the neighborhood, boasting 4.5 stars out of 288 reviews on Yelp. 

Yelpers praise its fajita plates, tacos al pastor, Baja-style fish tacos, and fresh guacamole made tableside. The restaurant can get busy, though, so you may want to make a reservation over the phone or through its Yelp page.

2. Arancini House

Next up is Sicilian fast-casual spot Arancini House, situated at 615 Washington Road, Terrace Level. With 4.5 stars out of 61 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite for its titular arancini: deep-fried balls of risotto stuffed with meat, cheese and other goodies. 

Reviewers have special praise for the Al Burro arancini with bechamel cream sauce, prosciutto di cotto and peas; the spot also serves panelle sandwiches, chickpea fritters, pizza, and pastries like cannoli.

3. La Gourmandine Bakery & Pastry Shop

Bakery and brunch favorite La Gourmandine Bakery & Pastry Shop is another top choice. Located at 300 Cochran Road, this local pâtisserie and breakfast café chain boasts 4.5 stars out of 61 reviews on Yelp.

Reviewers rave about its macarons — especially the kind filled with lychee cream and raspberries —  as well as its almond croissants and other French treats, such as the choquettes (small pastries akin to doughnut holes, dusted with sugar). You can view the menu here. 

4. Jade Grille

Jade Grille, a modern hybrid of a Chinese restaurant and a sushi bar, is another neighborhood go-to, with four stars out of 175 Yelp reviews.

5. Little Tokyo

Last but not least, there's Little Tokyo, a more traditional combination of a sushi bar and hibachi restaurant which has earned four stars out of 165 reviews on Yelp. 

The extensive menu includes plenty of Japanese homestyle comfort food like tonkatsu and soba noodles as well as hibachi favorites like filet mignon and shrimp.
