Every year, at least since 1994, people have been celebrating World Vegan Day on November 1. That being said, you don't have to be a strict vegan to enjoy San Antonio's vegan fare.
Fortunately, there are plenty of options from which to choose. To help, Hoodline combed through Yelp data and applied our own secret sauce to come up with the best vegan destinations in San Antonio.
1. Earth Burger

Topping the list is Earth Burger. Located at 818 N.W. Loop 410th in Shearer Hills - Ridgeview, the fast food vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free spot is the highest rated vegan restaurant in San Antonio, boasting 4.5 stars out of 348 reviews on Yelp.
On the menu, you'll find options like the Earth Burger on a whole wheat bun with secret sauce, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes and onions; the Spicy Chik-N Sandwich with a breaded fillet on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and Sriracha mayo; and the Fishless Sandwich with a crispy fillet on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomatoes and tartar sauce.
Yelper Ryleigh M., who reviewed it on October 15, said, "Incredible vegan/vegetarian food, and in drive-thru form, which is even better! Food was also served very fast. Insanely realistic 'chicken' and the agave mustard is great. Very cool drink options and they also have coconut soft serve."
2. 5 Points Local

Next up is 5 Points Local, situated at 1017 N. Flores St. With 4.5 stars out of 285 reviews on Yelp, the gluten-free, breakfast and vegan spot has proven to be a local favorite.
Vegan options include the Karma Bowl with quinoa, roasted rosemary sweet potatoes, whole black beans, fresh kale salad and chipotle cashew crema; the Curry Bowl with Thai coconut curry, seasonal vegetables, brown rice, fresh greens and sesame vinaigrette dressing; and the Sun Bowl with zucchini noodles, kale pesto, luna olive salad and balsamic vinaigrette. (See the full menu here.)
Kati K. said, "The menu is vegan and gluten-free friendly. The bottom line is it's fresh ingredients and great food! I got the Rise and Shine bowl with the seasonal scramble, refried black beans, arugula and fresh guacamole. So delish!"
3. Green Vegetarian Cuisine

Green Vegetarian Cuisine, a vegetarian, vegan and breakfast and brunch spot in Tobin Hill, is another go-to, with four stars out of 658 Yelp reviews. Head over to 200 E. Grayson St., Suite 120, in the Full Goods Building to see for yourself.
The menu has dishes like the Charita Bowl with avocado, sesame slaw, carrots, garbanzo beans, quinoa, hummus, tofu feta and steamed broccoli on a bed of romaine; the Green Burger with a chickpea-veggie patty and avocado, field greens, tomatoes and chipotle mayo; and the Chicken Fried Chik-N with fried filets smothered in cream gravy, served with mashed potatoes and kale salad. (See the menu here.)

4. Señor Veggie

Finally, over in Lavaca, check out Señor Veggie, which has earned four stars out of 397 reviews on Yelp. You can find the vegan spot at 620 S. Presa St.

Victoria G., who reviewed it on October 7, wrote, "This is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in town! It was a small restaurant with a welcoming environment, but it still has an element of fanciness so you still feel like you're having a night out. The food was delicious and I could tell it was made with care."
