Trio Modern Mediterranean

Trio Modern Mediterranean is a Mediterranean spot. The local chain has two other locations in San Antonio.
The menu offers a build-your-own concept with Mediterranean flavors. You choose your base first, such as a pocket, bowl, salad or laffa wrap, then a protein, including steak, al pastor, chicken, falafel or spicy falafel. You then finish customizing it with your choice of toppings, sauces and more.
Trio Modern Mediterranean has garnered positive reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.
Yelper Steffi H., who reviewed it on Nov. 5, wrote, "I love the concept because it gives you a lot of flexibility for variation and customization in your food. You get to pick between a bowl, salad, wrap and house fries. The meat choices are gyro, steak, chicken and falafel. As for sides, there are plenty to pick from: arugula, romaine lettuce, spring mix, turmeric rice, brown rice, hummus, tabbouleh salad, picketed onion, dill sauce and so much more."
Joe R. noted, "Love this place, so glad to have a quick, tasty restaurant like this so close. Also, the coffee and pastries are great!"
The new eatery has yet to post its hours online.
Ohana Academy

Ohana Academy is a new martial arts studio and fitness center.
The studio offers a variety of martial arts classes for men and women of all ages and experience levels, including Brazilian jiu jitsu, wrestling, kickboxing, MMA, Muay Thai and more. (You can check out its schedule here.)
Ohana Academy has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Wendy B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 25, wrote, "It's amazing how within an hour they make you feel part of the Ohana family. It is definitely a great experience and the team is amazing. Thanks for all the support and the various programs that they offer — there is something for everyone."
Gina H. noted, "We just signed up after my son tried out the classes for a week. We have really enjoyed the professionalism and the great customer service. The coaches are great with the kids and there's a lot of options for all levels. We are excited about being a part of the Ohana family."

Kilwins Ice Cream
109 Alamo Plaza, Downtown

Kilwins Ice Cream is a new chocolatier and shop and gift shop, offering ice cream and frozen yogurt and more. This is the national chain's first location in San Antonio.
It serves its ice cream in freshly-made waffle cones, as part of sundaes, or in shakes and malts. Flavors include mint chocolate chip, dulce de leche, strawberry chunk, rum raisin, maple walnut, banana fudge pie and more.
It also offers various treats for sale, like chocolates, toffees, caramels, fresh fudge and more.
The new spot has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.
Greg H., who was the first to review it on Oct. 6, said, "Stopped in and had some great treats. They were all very tasty. The store was super clean and staff was very attentive. The ice cream was incredible and had at least 40 flavors. So many choices."
Stacey M. added, "So amazing! Fresh, free fudge samples, and it's not overly sweet, especially the DoubleDark Chocolate. And their ice cream is homemade and super yummy!"
