A new ice cream shop has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Kilwins Ice Cream, the fresh addition is located at 109 Alamo Plaza in Downtown. This is the national chain's first location in San Antonio.

It serves its ice cream in freshly-made waffle cones, as part of sundaes, or in shakes and malts. Flavors include mint chocolate chip, dulce de leche, strawberry chunk, rum raisin, maple walnut, banana fudge pie and more.

It also offers various treats for sale, like chocolates, toffees, caramels, fresh fudge and more.

The new spot has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Greg H., who was the first to review it on Oct. 6, said, "Stopped in and had some great treats. They were all very tasty. The store was super clean and staff was very attentive. The ice cream was incredible and had at least 40 flavors. So many choices."

Stacey M. added, "So amazing! Fresh, free fudge samples, and it's not overly sweet, especially the DoubleDark Chocolate. And their ice cream is homemade and super yummy!"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Kilwins Ice Cream is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
