A new upscale food hall and outdoor market has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called The Pennsylvania Market, the newcomer is located at 108 19th St. in the Strip District.
The 12,000-square-foot, two-story space has a balcony, courtyard and seating for over 400 diners.
Several vendors are on hand, including Romulus Pizza, Edgar’s Tacos, Bistro 108, Cherish Creamery and Hillside Orchards, and there is a wine library on the second floor, Next Pittsburgh reports.
Grab a slice or two of stuffed-crust pepperoni pizza from Romulus Pizza and a glass of wine. Or choose a small bite like bruschetta with tomatoes, mozzarella and prosciutto from the Nibbles menu.
The Pennsylvania Market currently has a 3.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Madeline V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 31, wrote, "The Pennsylvania Market is something Pittsburgh needs. It's a European-style market and food hall combined. It brings together small vendors, different bar areas, a few traditional restaurant concepts and a nice blend of indoor and outdoor seating."
Yelper Nancy R. added, “There are several restaurants in the upstairs space ... There is also a wine library and regular bar. I am looking forward to adding additional eateries up here. It is a beautiful space with a balcony."
