Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Union Pie Co., the fresh arrival is located at 1914 Brownsville Road in Carrick.

"We are Pittsburghers with a blue-collar background and a passion for pizza. We hope to provide the community with local ingredients, great service and food," the restaurant writes on its Facebook page.

In addition to a variety of pizzas, try a calzone, made with freshly baked dough, stuffed with mozzarella, provolone and ricotta cheeses. Hoagies and salads are also offered. See the full menu here.

With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has already made a good impression.

Stephen B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 28, wrote, "This place recently opened up and I have to say, I'd put the pizza up against any of the typical South Hills traditional joints from Banksville Road and West Liberty Avenue. The menu is simple (primarily pizza, hoagies and calzones)."

Yelper Gina D. added, "Absolutely my new favorite pizza place! The ingredients are super fresh. They make their own sauce, dough and even their own mayo for the sandwiches. ... It's not a chain, the customer service is wonderful. Such a great addition to the neighborhood!"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Union Pie Co. is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
