A new Thai spot has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 3500 Chestnut Ave. in Hampden, the fresh addition is called Bodhi Corner. The restaurant’s name and concept is inspired by “the cultural significance of the Bodhi Tree," according to its website.
The menu consists of noodles, noodle bowls, fried rice, curry and vegan entrees. Look for options like the pineapple fried rice with jasmine rice, egg, pineapple, raisins, carrots, scallions and yellow curry powder. The duck curry is another standout option with duck breast in red curry, pineapple, tomato, bell pepper, grape and basil. Or go vegan with the Rama dish, which has tofu and with steamed vegetables in a peanut sauce.
The new addition has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp.
Allyson H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 2, wrote, "I got carry out last night and everything was a win. The Tom Kha soup with shrimp was out of this world. The red curry has a nice spice to it. ... The pad thai was great."
And Elizabeth M. wrote, "The food here was very tasty and flavorful—we will be back for more sometime soon! The beef prik king and chicken drunken noodles were the main highlights of our meal, but the chive dumplings were also very good."
Bodhi Corner has yet to post its hours online.
