In search of a new favorite karaoke spot?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top karaoke spots around Denver, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture next time you're in the market for karaoke.
1. El Charrito
Topping the list is El Charrito. Located at 2100 Larimer St. in Five Points, the dive bar, karaoke and Mexican spot is the highest rated karaoke spot in Denver, boasting four stars out of 88 reviews on Yelp.
The taco bar offers karaoke every Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m.–1:30 a.m and Sunday from 8 p.m.–midnight, along with open mic comedy on Thursday nights. The popular spot also serves a variety of Mexican snacks like quesadillas, chicken chicharrones and Mexican eggrolls (seasoned ground beef, beans, rice, cheese and peppers wrapped and fried in eggroll skins).
Karaoke lovers rave about the ambience: "This was the perfect dive bar karaoke experience," wrote Yelper Joanna V. "When we walked in, we knew we had found a great spot."
2. Voodoo Comedy Playhouse
Next up is Five Points's Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, situated at 1260 22nd St. With four stars out of 82 reviews on Yelp, the comedy club, events pacae and karaoke spot has proven to be a local favorite.
The comedy club typically hosts karaoke following its improv performances, which are held five nights a week, Tuesday through Saturday. Guests can also enjoy drinks from the bar, which opens the hour before every show. (You can check out upcoming performances here.)
Rachel T. said, "The karaoke DJ was fantastic, and did a great job keeping the crowd energized, including some of his own performances in the lineup. And he did well at them."
3. Voicebox Karaoke
Five Points' Voicebox Karaoke, located at 2601 Walnut St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the lounge and karaoke spot four stars out of 42 reviews.
Voicebox allows visitors to book private rooms that include a setlist with songs like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," Beyonce's "Single Ladies," Prince's "Kiss" and more. The spot also serves cocktails like La Vie en Rose (Spring 44 Gin, pinot grigio, grenadine, St-Germain, lemon and cranberry) and Like a Virgin (prosecco, grapefruit juice, ginger beer and rosemary sprig).
Karaoke fanatics are impressed: "The energy is awesome here! The lounge area is perfect for those who just want to hangout, have food and drinks, while listening to great music" said Bre P. "The private rooms are the best. You control music from your phone and you can change the room effect (disco ball, lights, etc.) from the remote."
