Chook Charcoal Chicken is a new chicken shop that specializes in cooking chicken over a charcoal rotisserie.

Look for quarter, half or full chickens with a choice of one sauce (gravy, chimichurri or Piri-Piri) as well as other menu options such as salads, sandwiches and appetizers. Check out the website here for more information and a full line of offerings.

It's off to a popular start thus far with 4.5 stars out of 15 Yelp reviews.

Yelper Rebecca C., who reviewed it on Dec. 6, said, "A fantastic addition to the incredible restaurants already located on Pearl Street. I had the avocado sandwich, quarter chicken, veggies, squash and potatoes. Everything we ate was fantastic! The seasoning was perfect, the sauces were a tasty addition and the sides all had their own unique spin to them."

D J. wrote, "Ordered a half chicken with the Piri-Piri and chimichurri sauce. Really simple presentation, very appealing. Chicken is super juicy, filled with amazing flavors where the charcoal is present but does not dominate. Sauces pair very well, nothing overpowering—the chicken shines."

The new spot is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
