Assault and robbery led the increase in crime incidents. Assault rose to 100 incidents last week, from 68 the week before. Robbery went from four to 10.

Among the few types of offenses that saw a downturn last week, reports of burglary went from 52 to 37. Incidents of theft fell from 101 to 88, and vandalism went down from 21 to 18. 

There were 456 reports of "other" crimes, an increase of 14 from the previous week. SpotCrime's broad "other" category includes a variety of offenses like fraud, trespassing, public disturbance and traffic violations. SpotCrime data also indicates that 10 arrests were made last week, up from seven arrests the week before.

As far as where crime is concentrated in the city, Sunset Park continued to have the most reported incidents last week.

Regarding when crime most often occurs, Fridays, Wednesdays and Saturdays witnessed the most reported crimes last week. The largest increase from the previous week occurred on Fridays, Wednesdays and Mondays, while incidents on Saturdays and Thursdays went down. After midnight, continue to see the most crime incidents.
