Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Thai spots around Pittsburgh, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're on the hunt.

1. Nicky's Thai Kitchen

Topping the list is Nicky's Thai Kitchen. Located at 903 Penn Ave. downtown, it's the highest rated Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh, boasting four stars out of 632 reviews on Yelp.

This is one of three Pittsburgh area locations. This spot offers soups, salads and entrees. Entrees include curries, noodles and rice dishes, which all come with a choice of either vegetable, chicken, tofu, pork, beef, shrimp or seafood.  Reservations are recommended if you want to sit down, as seating is tight inside. Rachel C., who visited on Oct. 18, said, "Huge variety of Thai flavors on the menu, nice vegan and seafood options and very accommodating service. ... I love the yummy comfort of the Tom Yum soup, the freshness of the rolls and the crab fried rice is amazing."

2. Thai Gourmet

Next up is Bloomfield's Thai Gourmet, situated at 4505 Liberty Ave. With 4.5 stars out of 171 reviews on Yelp, the Thai spot has proven to be a local favorite.

Diners looking for a light bite can choose from starters like spring rolls, Tom Kha soup or Yum Tofu salad. Entrees include options like the Pad Thai Noodles with rice noodles in a tangy sauce with scrambled eggs and scallions, topped with bean sprouts and crushed peanuts; the Nam Prik with crushed peanuts and mung beans in a red curry sauce; and the Chiang Mai Mee with egg noodles, onion, tomatoes and yellow curry, topped with bean sprouts, cilantro, scallions and crispy shallots. This spot also allows patrons to BYOB. 

Yelper Hives T. wrote, "This is some of the best Thai food I've had. The place is really cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out remarkably fast and was was really unbelievably good. The portions are huge—we all took ours home and had it for lunch the next day."

3. Dancing Crab Thai Noodle House

Then there's Southside Flats's Dancing Crab Thai Noodle House, located at 2126 E. Carson St., which is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Thai spot 4.5 stars out of 122 reviews.

The menu includes salads, soups, curries, noodles and fried rice. Give the glass noodle salad a try, along with the Tom Yum noodle seafood soup and spicy basil fried rice. (See the full menu here.)
