Next up is Northgate's MKG Martial Arts International, situated at 10714 Fifth Ave. NE (between Northgate East and Northgate West drives). With 4.5 stars out of 53 reviews on Yelp, the martial art spot has proven to be a local favorite.

Jason A. wrote, "MKG is an amazing place with a fantastic community and owners that genuinely care about sharing their passion for martial arts. This is really two gyms in one (martial arts and Crossfit), but the Crossfit portion is pretty standard. MKG's best attribute is the lack of ego or tough-guy mentality."

3. Ivan Salaverry Mixed Martial Arts Studio

Yelper Bill F., who reviewed it on Aug. 21, said, "The best MMA gym in Seattle! Friendly, fun and you learn quick! It's been a while since I trained here because I moved, but it was a huge part of my development. Ivan is great guy with an amazing gym!"
