Understanding the Foundations of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Part II

Dr. Anna Parnes, PhD, will lead a discussion on dialectical behavior therapy, a treatment designed to decrease feelings of suicide and self-harming behaviors in children and teens. 

Parnes, a psychologist at the Children's Health Council and a clinician at the Rise Comprehensive DBT Intensive Outpatient Program, will examine topics including mindfulness, interpersonal skills, distress tolerance and emotion regulation.

Martin Rees: Prospects for Humanity

British astrophysicist Martin Rees, who is the author of "On the Future: Prospects for Humanity," will discuss how biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence can address global problems.

Alison van Diggelen, host of "Fresh Dialogues," and BBC contributor, will lead the talk. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m.
