'Xuanzang's Pilgrimage' at The Kennedy Center

Over at the Kennedy Center, free and discounted tickets are available to catch the multimedia drama "Xuanzang's Pilgrimage" this weekend.

The China Performing Arts Agency —part of the Chinese Ministry of Culture — is behind this production, which tells the true story of a 7th century monk who makes a 17-year pilgrimage across China to India. The story is told with the help of a traditional 80-piece Chinese orchestra, 24 performers and elaborate costumes.

The American Pops Orchestra: 'An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly' at The Mead Center

Finally, children in pre-K to grade three are invited to "An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." This latest work from the American Pops Orchestra is part of its continuing mission to promote the great American songbook.
