
Crime reports in Anaheim saw an overall decline last month, for the third month in a row, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.
Incidents fell by 1.7 percent, from 1,922 in November to 1,890 in December. Crime levels tend to follow seasonal patterns, and some of the most common offenses tend to decline in winter, which might partly explain the most recent downward trend.

Vandalism and theft led the most recent decrease in crime incidents. Vandalism fell from 76 reported incidents in November to 68 in December. Theft incidents went from 247 to 240 for the month, or a 2.8 percent decrease.
There was one reported arson last month, and 379 burglary incidents. Arson incidents remained at about the same level as in the previous month, while burglary reports decreased by two incidents.
Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, assault reports went from 114 to 120. Robbery incidents rose from 13 to 17.

Considering the concentration of crime across the city, the largest decline last month occurred in the Colony, Anaheim Hills and Southeast Anaheim.
Mondays, Sundays and Saturdays saw the most crime incidents. The largest decrease from the previous month occurred on Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays, while incidents on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Sundays went up. Late morning, midday and late afternoon saw the most crime last month on average each day.
