
Crime incidents in Anaheim saw an overall decrease last week, after a previous rise, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources. Incidents fell to 382 for the week of Dec. 24, down from 481 the week before.
Burglary and vandalism led the decrease in crime reports. Burglary fell to 70 incidents last week, from 93 the week before. Vandalism went from 21 to 10.

There were 57 reported theft incidents last week. That represents a decrease from 67 incidents the previous week.
Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last week, reports of assault went from 19 to 32, and robbery rose from three to four.

There were 201 reports of "other" crimes, a decrease of 63 from the previous week. SpotCrime's broad "other" category includes a variety of offenses like fraud, trespassing, public disturbance and traffic violations. SpotCrime data also indicates that eight arrests were made last week, down from 13 arrests the week before.
As far as where crime is concentrated in the city, West Anaheim, Northwest Anaheim, and Southeast Anaheim had the most reported incidents last week. West Anaheim and Northwest Anaheim were at the top of the list the previous week as well.
West Anaheim saw the largest decline. Crime reports in Southwest Anaheim also fell for a second week, and incidents in Northwest Anaheim are down considerably as well.
Regarding day and time factors, Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays saw the most crime incidents. The largest decrease from the previous week occurred on Thursdays, Fridays and Tuesdays, while incidents on Wednesdays went up. Late morning, midday and early afternoon saw the most crime.
