
Crime incidents in Cincinnati saw an overall bump last month, for the second month in a row, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.
Incidents rose by about 12 percent, from 1,955 in November to 2,209 in December.

Vandalism and robbery led the most recent increase in crime incidents. Vandalism rose from 247 reported incidents in November to 331 in December. Robbery incidents went from 73 to 111 for the month or about a 52 percent increase.
While somewhat smaller categories, there was also a considerable percentage increase last month in shootings, from 16 incidents per month to 37 and in assault, from 490 to 527. Shooting reports have decreased since the same month last year, while assault incidents have declined.
There were two arson reports last month and 255 burglary incidents. Arson incidents rose from one offense the previous month, while burglary reports increased by 25 incidents.

Looking at crime patterns in different areas of the city, Over-The-Rhine, Central Business District and East Price Hill saw the largest increase from November to December. South Cumminsville, Corryville and Hartwell also saw considerable percentage increases in crime offenses for the month, although they continue to have lower overall crime levels.
Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays produced the most crime incidents last month. The largest increase from the previous month occurred on Mondays, Sundays and Saturdays, while incidents on Thursdays, Fridays and Wednesdays went down. Early afternoon, late afternoon and evening saw the most crime last month on average each day.
