Hungry? A new neighborhood Asian fusion spot has you covered. The fresh addition to East Liberty, called Mola, is located at 6018 Penn Ave.
This restaurant is small, but it was designed so that diners may watch as chefs prepare their meals. The menu includes hand rolls, rice bowls, dumplings and bao. There are also small plates like the spicy coconut P.E.I. mussels and seaweed salad. The spot has daily happy hour drink specials too.
Mola has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Madeline V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 29, wrote, "The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone we interacted with was courteous and professional to a fault. ... We ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl, several bao buns and an array of hand rolls and nigiri. Everything was flavorful and perfectly executed."
Yelper Jess C. added, “Exceptional service from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. They just opened, but were pretty busy for a Thursday evening!"
Head on over to check it out: Mola is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
