A new bakery and patisserie has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new addition to Granada Hills, called Royal Bakery, is located at 10662 Zelzah Ave.
The bakery offers Mediterranean specialties like simit (ring bread), acma (Turkish bagels) and börek (filled puff pastries), as well as artisanal French breads.
With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Royal Bakery has already made a good impression.
"The pastries are amazing. They make the best simit and acma," wrote Yelper Lulu I., advising: "They sell out quick, so call in advance."
And Alec E. added, "They have exceptionally good Mediterranean pastries along with traditional cookies, all of which are great. They also make different kinds of artisanal French bread. The owner (who is himself a baker) told me that they make their own yeast and this is a big reason why their bread is so good."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Royal Bakery is open from 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
