The offenses that increased the most were theft and robbery. Theft rose to 78 incidents last week, from 62 the week before. Robbery went from seven to nine.

There were six reported arson incidents last week. That represents a steady state from the previous week. There were also 36 incidents of burglary.
Among the few types of offenses that saw a downturn last week, reports of vandalism went from 19 to 13, and assault fell from 66 to 62.

There were 419 reports of "other" crimes, a decrease of 10 from the previous week. SpotCrime's broad "other" category includes a variety of offenses like fraud, trespassing, public disturbance and traffic violations. SpotCrime data also indicates that 10 arrests were made last week, up from seven arrests the week before.
As far as where crime is concentrated in the city, Sunset Park continued to have the most reported incidents last week, and the largest increase in incidents.
Regarding day and time factors, Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays continued to see the most reported crimes last week. The largest increase from the previous week occurred on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Wednesdays, while incidents on Sundays and Thursdays went down. The time period after midnight continues to see the most crime incidents.
