Most types of crimes increased this month, led by theft and robbery. Theft rose from 106 reported incidents in November to 124 in December. Robbery incidents went from five to 18 for the month, or about a 260 percent increase.

While somewhat smaller categories, there was also a considerable percentage increase last month in assault, from nine incidents per month to 12, and in vandalism, from 18 to 22. Assault reports have decreased since the same month last year, while vandalism incidents have declined.

Among the few types of offenses that saw a downturn last month, burglary reports went from 298 to 295. Shooting incidents fell from five to three.

Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays produced the most crime incidents. The largest increase from the previous month occurred on Mondays, Sundays and Saturdays, while incidents on Fridays, Thursdays and Tuesdays went down. Evening, midday and late afternoon saw the most crime on average each day.
