Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top places to visit in West End, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of neighborhood businesses. Read on for the results.
1. The Ski Monster

Topping the list is The Ski Monster, a spot to score outdoor gear and more. Located at 60 Canal St. (between Traverse and Market streets.), it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting five stars out of 67 reviews on Yelp.
At The Ski Monster, you can find equipment, apparel and accessories for skiing and snowboarding suitable for men, women and children. There are boots, binding, poles and even cleaning agents to protect your gear. Freeskier also recently declared the brick-and-mortar shop the winner of its Top Shop Contest.
Yelper Nick K., who reviewed it on Nov. 30, wrote, "The most helpful and informed ski shop I've been to. I was greeted, guided throughout my entire purchase, recommended the best option and left with more than I came for because I was so impressed with the service."
2. Scampo

Next up is Italian spot Scampo, situated at 215 Charles St. (between Charlesbank Road and Fruit Street). With four stars out of 513 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.
Located in the Liberty Hotel, Scampo offers a menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired flavors for brunch, lunch and dinner, according to its website. Check out its mozzarella bar, pastas, in-house baked breads and more. A seasonal cocktail list and wine is also available.
Ken L. said, "Scampo never fails to please. The food is well-conceived and expertly prepared. The ambiance is inviting and the service is always efficient and friendly."
3. Cuppacoffee

Cuppacoffee, a spot to score coffee, tea and more, is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 1 Merrimac St. (between Traverse and New Chardon streets), 4.5 stars out of 103 reviews.
With three locations in total, Cuppacoffee offers a selection of both American and traditional Aussie food and treats. Look for the classic beef pie or the curry veg. On the drink list, there's an espresso bar, and a selection of regular coffees and teas.

4. Mulligans

Mulligans, a deli that offers sandwiches and more, is another much-loved neighborhood go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 88 Yelp reviews. Head over to 83 Canal St. (between Traverse and Market streets.) to see for yourself.
Mulligans has been serving the area breakfast and lunch for nearly two decades, according to its website. On the menu, expect to find a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, greens, sides and add-ons. Look for the specialty Saint Andrews with roast beef, mozzarella and cheddar topped with tomato, onion and drizzled with honey mustard on a baguette.
Yelper Tricia R. wrote, "All items on the menu are fresh, the serving sizes right on target and the prices are great. The best chicken and tuna salad—perfect amount of mayo and celery. The staff is friendly and the service is quick."
