Topping the list is French and American hybrid spot Legume. Located at 214 N. Craig St., it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting 4.5 stars out of 378 reviews on Yelp.

Named after the French word for vegetable, the restaurant specializes in its offering of French food and some American dishes. According to the website, Legume sources 100 percent of its pork, beef, chicken, lamb and goat from western Pennsylvania.

On the menu, which changes from day to day, look for dishes like the pork, duck and pistachio pate, with sour dill pickles, whole grain mustard and a crostini. Or try the lamb leg steak, which has Jamison Farm lamb with hand-rolled Palestinian couscous (maftoul), whole hakurei turnips and a rhubarb chutney.

2. Union Grill

When it comes to sandwiches, look for the chicken ciabatta melt, with char-grilled chicken breast, applewood-smoked bacon, spicy banana peppers, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and your choice of cheese.
