Cleveland-based document management and clinical trials company Complion has secured $7 million in Series B funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced February 13 and led by Beringea.

According to its Crunchbase profile, "The Complion platform offers tremendous benefits to every role in the clinical trial ecosystem. It allows administrators and research coordinators to more efficiently maintain compliance protocols. It unleashes investigators to explore potential innovation with fewer hassles."

The five-year-old company has raised seven previous funding rounds, including a $1.6 million round in 2016.

The round brings total funding raised by Cleveland companies in health care over the past month to $18 million. The local health care industry has produced 26 funding rounds over the past year, capturing a total of $334 million in venture funding.

In other local funding news, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine announced a $3.3 million grant on February 19, financed by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
