Hear Chinese-Americans recount explorations of their ancestral homelands

Finally, this Sunday afternoon, the 1882 Foundation is hosting a conversation with three "jook-sings" — the Cantonese term for Chinese people raised in a Western environment — who'll discuss their journeys to explore their ancestral villages and family histories.

The 1882 Foundation is currently pursuing redress for the decades of discrimination that came with the federal government's Chinese exclusion laws, which prohibited Chinese nationals from immigrating to the United States and barred Chinese people already living in the country from acquiring citizenship.

When: Sunday, March 17, 2-4 p.m.
Where: I Street Conferencing Center, Level C, 600 Massachusetts Ave., NW
