Dueling Pianos at Tuscan Kitchen

Saturday, head to Tuscan Kitchen for a lively dueling piano show and three-course dinner. Two pianists will take your requests for everything from pop, rock, country, hip-hop, hairbands, show tunes and more.

Cantata Singers: 'The Creation'

Friday evening, take in a performance of composer F.J. Haydn's "The Creation."  Conductor Martin Pearlman will lead the orchestra and give the pre-concert talk, and soloists Amanda Forsythe, soprano, William Hite, tenor, and Mark Andrew Cleveland, bass, will lend their voices to the retelling of the story of the creation of the world.

Hagen Quartet

Come Saturday, the Hagen Quartet performs works of Schubert, Webern and Beethoven at New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall. Siblings Lukas, Veronika and Clemens, playing the violin, viola and cello respectively, team with violinist Rainer Schmidt to perform as part of the Boston Celebrity Series. Boston Jazz Cruise

Or, if you're in the mood for jazz, cruise the Boston Harbor, accompanied by the musical stylings of the Benjamin Young Trio from the Berklee College of Music. The trio will play tunes from the roaring '20s and beyond as guests enjoy champagne and mixed drinks from the cash bar.

Thomas Wilkins conducts Hailstork, Sierra, Price and Ellington with saxophonist James Carter

Also on Saturday, Thomas Wilkins, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Germeshausen youth and family concerts conductor, makes his subscription series debut. The concert highlights the music of three African-American composers — Adolphus Hailstork, Florence Price and Duke Ellington — and a concerto Puerto Rico-born Robert Sierra wrote for the night's guest, jazz saxophonist James Carter.
