The number of crime incidents in Anaheim last week remained roughly even with the week before, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.

The specific offenses that decreased the most the week of March 4 were assault and robbery. Assault fell to 26 incidents last week, from 27 the week before. Robbery went from five to four. Reports of assault have continued to fall for the last two weeks.

Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick, reports of vandalism went from 15 to 26. Incidents of burglary rose from 76 to 85, and theft went up from 54 to 61.

There were 239 reports of "other" crimes, a decrease of 29 from the previous week. SpotCrime's broad "other" category includes a variety of offenses like fraud, trespassing, public disturbance and traffic violations. Of those incidents, 15 involved arrests, such as for drug possession, down from 16 reported arrests the week before.

Considering the concentration of crime across the city, West Anaheim, Southeast Anaheim and Southwest Anaheim continued to have the most reported incidents.

Crime in Northwest Anaheim decreased the most. Crime reports in Southwest Anaheim also fell, after increasing the week before, and incidents in Southeast Anaheim are down considerably as well.

Regarding when crime most often occurs, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays saw the most reported crimes last week. The largest decrease from the previous week occurred on Fridays, Thursdays and Wednesdays, while incidents on Sundays, Tuesdays and Saturdays went up. Comparing times of day, late afternoon, late morning and midday saw the most crime.
