We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to uncover which local businesses have been in the limelight this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Seattle businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increase their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Le Coin

Open since July of last year, this French and New American spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.

Citywide, New American spots saw new reviews increase by a median of 1.6 percent over the past month, but Le Coin saw a 16.7 percent increase, maintaining a solid 4.5-star rating throughout.

It's not the only trending outlier in the New American category: Kokkaku has seen a 14.1 percent increase in reviews, and Redhook Brewlab has seen a 7.2 percent bump.

Located at 4201 Fremont Ave. North in Fremont, Le Coin offers French-American brunch and dinner options. While businesses categorized as "Desserts" on Yelp increased their review count by a median of 2.1 percent over the past month, Cinnaholic bagged a 15.1 percent increase in new reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a sound four-star rating.

Open at 816 E. Pike St. since October, Cinnaholic offers a variety of custom-made gourmet cinnamon rolls with frosting flavors like apple cider, chai and peanut butter alongside toppings of chocolate chip cookie dough, pie crumble, strawberries and more.

Lower Queen Anne's CÔBA is also making waves. Open since 2017 at 530 First Ave. North, the bar and Vietnamese spot, which offers seafood and more, has seen a 6.1 percent bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 1.2 percent for all businesses tagged "Seafood" on Yelp.

CÔBA offers Southeast Asian fare, including small plates of prawn rolls made of Vermicelli noodles and bean sprouts wrapped in rice paper, banh mi sandwiches of grilled pork on a French baguette and noodle dishes served with a traditional spring vegetable mix and your choice of protein. Belltown's Mr. West Cafe Bar is the city's buzziest breakfast and brunch spot by the numbers.

The cafe, breakfast and brunch spot, which offers coffee, tea and more, and opened at 720 Olive Way, Suite 103 in 2015, increased its review count by 4.5 percent over the past month, an outlier when compared to the median review increase of 1.3 percent for the Yelp category "Breakfast & Brunch."

Mr. West Cafe Bar offers breakfast fare including Greek yogurt topped with walnuts, honey and Vietnamese cinnamon and avocado toast sprinkled with curry, mustard seed and lime.
