A new cocktail bar and New American restaurant has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Auburn, the fresh arrival is located at 6703 Melrose Ave. in Melrose.
The upscale eatery is the project of chef Eric Bost and offers a nightly tasting menu. Patrons seated in the dining room can build their own four, six or nine-course meal, with optional wine pairings.
The set dinner menu features items like Santa Barbara sea urchin, duck, scallops and oysters. Patrons at the bar can order from the menu a la carte. You can view the current menu here.
With a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, the new establishment is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Lisa I., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 19, said, "This restaurant is amazing! I got the four course menu, but with the bread, snacks, and mignardises at the end, it really becomes more like 8. Each course is a beauty to look at and an absolutely gastronomical pleasure to eat."
Yelper Guillaume B. added, "We had an amazing experience the second day of operation; everything was perfect. Food was delicious and beautiful. Service was perfect and the pace of the dinner so relaxing. The place is so nice and quiet."
And Stephen S. wrote, "Amazing dinner. Fantastic place. Beautiful aesthetic! Chef Eric Bost and his team created a special place...Their tasting menu...[allowed] each of our guests to select the number of courses and items we were interested in. It was perfect for my group of four, and is an approachable restaurant for any dynamic of friends and family."
Head on over to check it out: Auburn is open from 5:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
