An Artistic Celebration of International Women's Day

On Friday, celebrate International Women's Day at a free art exhibit at The Love Shack Boutique. The works of local artist Luis Mario Rodriguez will be in the spotlight, particularly his "In-Tune Collection," focused on the seven chakras from eastern meditation.

Hilos Que Hablan: Textile Legacy of Mariana Ornelas

This Saturday, head to the Esperanza Peace & Justice Center for another free exhibit showcasing the huipiles collection curated by Mariana Ornelas, who donated it to the Center. Huipiles are special articles of clothing, usually made from organic fibers like cotton, wool or silk and worn by indigenous women in parts of Mexico and throughout Guatemala. Ornelas was a professor of Spanish and Mexican American Studies at Palo Alto College and donated the collection to sustain the Center's mission and put the focus on textile workers and their workforce conditions.

Art for Autism
