Praline Bakery recently opened at 965 Seventh St. SW in the Wharf development.

The Bethesda-based establishment specializes in sweet treats, like pastries, tarts, cakes, cookies and Parisian macarons. It also produces breads, including baguettes, sourdough and a farmhouse wheat, which are used to make sandwiches like turkey and brie, or tomato and mozzarella.

Dive

Now open at 1610 20th St. NW in Dupont Circle is Dive, a new pub and live music venue.

It's located in the basement of the Darlington House restaurant, which used to be Childe Harold, where famous musicians like The Ramones, Bruce Springsteen and Emmylou Harris once played. Despite the name, this is no dive, but rather an upscale bar and restaurant with bottle service and VIP areas. Friday nights are open mic nights.

VR Zone DC

Finally, VR Zone DC is a new virtual reality arcade at 2300 Wisconsin Ave. NW, G-101 in Glover Park.

Its room-sized experiences are powered by Oculus and HTC Vive equipment. There are family-friendly adventure games and first-person shooters, as well as educational and team building titles. Walk in for an hour-long session, or rent the whole place for family or corporate events.
