2019 DFKDC Basketball with the Capital City Go-Gos

Next, whether as a volunteer or as a participant, come out for Dreams for Kids DC's basketball clinic for children with physical and mental disabilities. The free event aims to boost confidence among kids who are sometimes left out of activities with their able-bodied peers. Youngsters ages 4-24 are invited to participate, while volunteers must be 15 or older.

Congressional Suit Challenge and Power Breakfast with Dress for Success Washington, D.C.

Come Friday there's a breakfast fundraiser for Dress for Success D.C., an organization that helps women achieve economic independence by providing a network of support and the professional attire needed to thrive in the workplace. Members of Congress, leaders from the United Nations and corporate executives will be among those on a panel to discuss these issues. Feel free to bring lightly used professional attire to donate to the cause.

A Celebration of Women Refugee Entrepreneurs with One Journey

Later on Friday, One Journey, a grassroots organization dedicated to celebrating refugees, is behind this fundraiser at the historic Josephine Butler Parks Center in Meridian Hill. Women refugee chefs will create the hors d’oeuvres, and there'll be DJs, dancing and an open bar.

GIST Laugh

Finally, proceeds from this night of stand-up comedy will go to fight a rare gastrointestinal disease called GIST. Local comics will compete for your votes, 20 of which come with your purchased ticket. Of course, you can throw the whole completion your way — and help the effort against GIST along the way — by purchasing additional tickets.
