Fruit Fly Brain Hackathon at Columbia University

Head to Columbia University on Wednesday for the fourth annual Fruit Fly Brain HZackathon. Researchers with a keen interest in developing "executable models of the fruit fly brain" are invited to explore the university's FlyBrainLab, a new interactive computing platform created to study "the function of executable circuits constructed from fly brain data."

Our Brain on A.I. at The Cooper Union

Come Thursday, teenagers are gathering at The Cooper Union to discuss the social impacts of artificial intelligence, as well as STEM education and careers. The evening will feature a panel with the founder of a STEM education program, a Computer Science professor, an award-winning international artist and activist, a  neuroscientist at New York University, and a journalist and podcaster from the Wall Street Journal .

Astronomy Night: World Water Day at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

Last but not least, Friday night is Astronomy Night at the Intrepid Museum. Celebrate World Water Day by learning how oceans benefit the environment and the earth, and discussing the possibility of oceans and life on other planets.
