Tampa-based health care company Peerfit has secured $18 million in Series C funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced on March 19 and financed by Virgo Investment Group.

The eight-year-old company has raised seven previous funding rounds, including an $8 million convertible note round in 2018.

The round brings total funding raised by Tampa companies in health care over the past month to $34 million. The local health care industry has produced nine funding rounds over the past year, securing a total of $79 million in venture funding.

In other local funding news, health care company Global Safety Management announced a $4 million Series B funding round on April 3, financed by Florida Funders.
