The goal of the Pittsburgh Admissions Collaboration is to provide students a pathway from Pittsburgh Public Schools to Community College of Allegheny County and then to the University of Pittsburgh. With a combined effort of their hard work, family and community support our PAC seniors will soon be high school graduates.

Life Sciences Week

We are excited to welcome 2018 Chemistry Nobel-Laureate, Dr. Frances Arnold back to Pittsburgh as the Keynote Speaker for Pittsburgh's Life Sciences Week. Frances Arnold is the Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering and Biochemistry and Director of the Rosen Bioengineering Center at the California Institute of Technology, where she has been on the faculty since 1986. Recognized most recently with the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Arnold pioneered directed protein evolution and has used those methods for applications in alternative energy, chemicals and medicine.

Workshop Series: Supporting Pittsburgh's Refugee Students

Join Dr. Xia Chao for the first of four interactive workshops in a series dedicated to helping educators understand the cultures, needs and assets of the Pittsburgh area's refugee communities. Through a grant from the National Geographic Society, Dr. Chao has conducted research over the past several years that explores the experiences and narratives of local refugee communities including the Nepali, Karen and Somali Bantu. This workshop series seeks to incorporate the findings of Dr. Chao's research in order to offer local educators insight into working with students from these communities and resources for supporting immigrant and refugee famillies in their interactions with the American educational system.
